Back to the Drawing Board: A Unifying First-Principle Model for Correlating Sample UV–Vis Absorption

Recent lab publication highlighting a new, unifying first principle model to accurately correlate sample Absorbance and Fluorescence. This work is of great significance to optical spectroscopy, allowing for accurate curve fitting of the fluorescence intensity as a function of absorbance. The model can also be expanded for quantitative studies on fluorescence quantum yield variations under differing stimuli treatments.
A huge thanks to Dr. Juan Hu (DePaul University) and Dr. Willard E. Collier (Tuskegee University) for their help in manuscript preparation.
